Learning Technologies Group
LGBTQ+ ERG Chair
LTG - Learning and Development Partner
Brief:
During my time at LTG, Employee Resource Groups were introduced to represent diverse communities across the business. As a nonbinary person, I wanted to do my part to contribute to this initiative and I volunteered to chair the LGBTQ+ ERG. I eventually adopted an informal role co-ordinating the various ERGs, ensuring we worked together to support our communities.
The Challenge:
Only able to use voluntary time
No budget
Skills:
Content scoping
Storyboarding
Workshop facilitation
PDF design
Graphic design
Sli.do
The Solution:
A series of resources and workshops to raise awareness and encouragement engagement.
Working alongside my co-chair, we designed and delivered a series of resources and remote workshops to colleagues on a variety of subjects from Microaggressions to Inclusive Language and Spaces. Prompted by issues raised within group meetings, I also successfully lobbied for several changes within the business including improving our HRIS software to prevent transgender colleagues being deadnamed, enabling pronouns to be displayed on video calls, and revisiting the company’s diversity and inclusion policies.
