Leadership Programme
LTG - Learning and Development Partner
Brief:
LTG’s HR team identified that many of the business’s managers had been promoted due to their performance in their role but had not received any management training. This was causing an increased workload for the HR team as managers were coming to them to facilitate simple requests and, in turn, colleagues were not receiving the correct level of support from their managers.
We needed to ensure managers could be self-sufficient with the fundamentals of line management, providing day-to-day help to their teams from hiring through to offboarding, and knowing when and how to escalate.
The Challenge:
Time poor learners
Audience split across business units with different working cultures
Global audience
Low budget
Skills:
Content scoping
Storyboarding
Scenario design
Articulate Storyline 360
The Solution:
A blended learning programme featuring workshops, e-learning modules, digital scenarios, and job aids.
Although I supported with the workshops, my primary role on this project was to design and develop a series of e-learning modules and digital scenarios. Learners complete a short e-learning course on a fundamental area of management such as onboarding, developing their team, supporting with day-to-day issues, etc.
Then, after attending a facilitated workshop with other managers to discuss and reflect on the content, learners complete a digital scenario module. These scenario modules follow a virtual team working within a fictional but familiar business, enabling us to keep the situations relevant without tying them to any particular business unit.
Over the course of the five scenarios, learners support persistent characters with common but often tricky challenges, acting as their virtual manager. We achieved a 100% completion rate with all managers at LTG by the end of the programme, receiving positive feedback from managers, HR, and colleagues.
